WATERLOO, N.Y. The Cayuga Indian's 25-year-old land claim will not get a second look from a federal appeals court. Seneca County Attorney Steven Getman says today's decision by the Second U-S Circuit Court of Appeals is another victory for property owners. The Cayuga Indian Nation of New York and the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma had asked for a rehearing after the court's split decision in June. The decision said the tribe was not entitled to a 248 (m) million land claim judgment awarded by a lower-court jury. Today's decision cited an earlier U-S Supreme Court ruling in a separate case...

Richard Cordray, past misconduct - Watchdog needed to monitor Obama, Cordray etc.

President Obama bypassed the normal Senate confirmation process on Wednesday and appointed Richard Cordray as director of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. [More on Mr. Cordray and his past misconduct later on this post.] [snip] During a press briefing on Thursday, the President said the consumer protection agency would also monitor the banks to ensure that they are not issuing mortgages to borrowers who can't afford to make the monthly payments. Ironically, it was Obama and his fellow Democrats [and ACORN] who forced the banks to make loans to high-risk borrowers - who then defaulted on their loans. This,...

Sex Abuse Convictions Overturned on Appeal

ROCHESTER—A state appeals court has overturned sex abuse charges against an Ontario County man and ordered a new trial. In doing so, the court also admonished the Ontario County District Attorney’s office for improper comments made during trial. In a decision released Friday (April 1), the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, ruled that Richard M. Wildrick’s rights were violated when the Ontario County Court refused to issue subpoenas for the school records of one of his alleged victims, an underage boy. Is Richard Trumka a DSA Socialist?

According to Detroit Democratic Socialists of America leader David Green. Our goal as socialists is to abolish private ownership of the means of production. Our immediate task is to limit the capitalist class’s prerogatives in the workplace... We can accomplish this by promoting full employment policies, passing local living wage laws, but most of all by increasing the union movement’s power... Certainly in the last 15 years D.S.A. and their Communist Party USA and independent Marxist allies have effectively taken complete control the U.S. labor movement.
